Q. What software does BankVal work with?

A. Any. BankVal has been implemented on a wide range of systems. The web service APIs used are platform independent.
Q. How up to date is BankVal?

A. BankVal reference data is updated every week – the highest frequency available. Because BankVal is a cloud based API, the latest validation rules are therefore automatically available to all users immediately.
Q. How quickly can we go live with BankVal?

A. Usually same day you register with us.
Q. What information do you get from a validation check?

A. For each check, you will get a valid or invalid modulus check response. You will also see in the response all of the Bacs, Chaps and faster payments clearing information for the account, including if the account can accept direct debits or credits. You will also receive the branch information for the sort code given, among a whole host of other information which can be found in the sample response in the developers section.

Q. What validation checks are included in BankVal International?

A. SWIFT BIC8 and BIC11 validation and IBAN validation.
Q. What information do you get from a validation check?

A. For IBAN validation you will receive a valid or invalid result for the IBAN entered. SWIFT BIC8 and BIC11 checks will give a valid or invalid result as well as the branch address and service code.

Q. How often is the EISCD updated?

A. Weekly and monthly subscriptions are available.
Q. What is the difference between ISCD and EISCD?

A. The ISCD (Industry Sort Code Directory) contains the same information as the EISCD (Extended Industry Sort Code Directory) but it doesn’t have the Faster Payments clearing details included.
Q. What format does the EISCD come in?

A. You can choose to download the EISCD file in a number of different formats:
CSV (tab delimited), JSON, XML and SAP Ready.
